Frequently asked questions

How buying, selling and custom projects work here — including the parts most marketplaces leave vague.

Buying

How do I order a print?
Open any listing and choose "Order this print". You give a delivery address and the quantity, and the order goes to the seller to confirm. Nothing is charged at that moment — placing an order records the agreement and notifies the seller.
How does payment work?
PrinTrade records orders; it does not take or hold payment. There is no checkout, no card handling and no stored balance. Once a seller confirms your order, the two of you arrange payment directly. Every order page states the agreed total so both sides are working from the same figure.
What does an order go through before it arrives?
Five steps, and you can see which one you are on at any time: Placed, Confirmed (the seller accepts and quotes delivery), In production, Shipped, then Delivered. Each step is timestamped on the order page.
What is the delivery cost?
The seller quotes it when they confirm your order, because it depends on the size, weight and destination of that specific print. Until they confirm, the order shows delivery as "not quoted yet" rather than assuming it is free.
Can I cancel an order?
You can cancel while an order is Placed or Confirmed. Once it moves to In production you cannot, because the seller has committed material and machine time to it — message them instead, and they can still cancel from their side. After it ships, neither side can cancel.
Do you offer returns?
Return terms are set by each seller and shown on their store page, not by the platform. Many made-to-order prints are final sale. Check the seller's stated policy before you order, and message them if anything is unclear.

Finding the right print

Can I filter by material or size?
Yes, and that is the point of the site. Every listing carries its material, colour, dimensions, weight, print time, layer height, infill and finish, and the catalogue filters on all of them. You can browse by material directly if you know you need PETG rather than PLA.
What if nobody sells what I need?
Post it as a custom project. You describe the part, optionally attach reference files, and makers send you quotes with a price and a lead time. You choose one, and the conversation carries the project and its files with it.

Selling

How do I start selling?
There is no separate seller account — one account does both. List your first product and the selling tools appear, and it is live in the marketplace as soon as you publish it.
What do I need to include in a listing?
A name, description and price are required. Everything else is print data — material, dimensions, weight, print time, layer height, infill, finish — and every field you fill in is another filter that puts your listing in front of the right buyer.
Can I run a discount?
Yes. From Promotions you can create a percentage discount, a fixed amount off, or free shipping, either store-wide or for a buyer's first order only. It applies itself at checkout — there is no code for the buyer to enter. Only your single best discount applies to any one order.
What happens if I go away?
Turn on Vacation mode in your store settings. Buyers can still browse your listings but cannot place new orders, and they see the message you leave. Orders already in progress are unaffected.
How are reviews handled?
Reviews are left about a seller, not about an individual product — one review covers the experience of trading with you. You can reply publicly to any review, once per review.

Account & privacy

Can I change my username or email?
Not currently. Your username is your public identity across listings, reviews and conversations, and your email is the account recovery channel. Your name, phone number and password can all be changed from Settings.
What data do you hold about me?
What you provide when you register and trade: account details, listings, orders, messages and reviews. The privacy policy sets out how it is stored and what rights you have over it.
